A little about what to expect on a Lunchtime Cruise:

Your lunchtime cruise begins at Magnetic Island Marina, Nelly Bay. One of the crew will meet you on the Pepper's Blue on Blue deck and show you to Pilgrim, the beautiful 58-foot sailing yacht.

After a full briefing to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe, we'll head out of the marina, pull up sails and go sailing.

THE CRUISE

Enjoy a leisurely sail to one of the bays of Magnetic Island. We'll sail for about an hour before dropping anchor in one of the bays.  

You are welcome to have a go at steering the yacht or just striking the pose behind the wheel for your new profile pic! If you are interested in sailing, the crew would be delighted to get you involved in pulling ropes or teaching you a little bit more about the sport. Alternatively, you can just kick back and relax in one of the bean bags.

The destination will depend on the wind conditions on the day but is often Radical Bay, Florence Bay or Arthur Bay.  

Once at anchor, you'll have some time to yourselves, when you can chill on the boat, explore the beach, have a swim or play/relax on the giant inflatable mat. If the weather permits (on light wind days) you may be able to go for a snorkel and check out the fringing reef and fish.

After you've had some fun or just kicked back and relaxed, we'll serve lunch on board.

Lunch includes locally caught prawns and bugs and an antipasto platter served with fresh baguette. Also included are Australian organic wines, premium beers and soft drinks with lunch and on the sail back to Nelly Bay.

After lunch, we'll pull up anchor and sail back to the marina enjoying the Magnetic Island scenery as we go.

During the cruise, we usually spot some of the local wildlife - the beautiful brahminy kites, the batfish or large Cod and in season, if we're lucky we'll see one or two of the migrating humpback whales.

The Cruise:
After a full briefing to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe, we'll head out of the marina and pull up sails and go sailing.

Once under sail, you will enjoy wines from a selection of Tamburlaine Organic Wines, which include Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and a Rose. (Note, we don't serve red wine onboard)

Alternatively, for non-wine drinkers, there is the locally brewed beer from the Townsville Brewery or soft drinks. All drinks are unlimited and included in the price.

There is also a delicious cheese platter to enjoy with your wine - be sure to try the homemade pumpkin chutney!

The route of the cruise in Cleveland Bay will depend on the wind (strength and direction). The skipper will ensure that it is the most comfortable ride for the prevailing conditions and will also line the boat up for the perfect view of the sun setting over Magnetic Island - make sure your cameras are ready!

Once the sun has dropped below the island, we will lower the sails and motor back into Nelly Bay Harbour in time for your dinner plans.

You'll spend your time on Pilgrim feeling like royalty, as you enjoy the decadence of being the only two guests on a luxury 58-foot yacht while being served gourmet delicacies and soaking up the natural beauty of sailing around Magnetic Island.

Your day will include some sailing, some relaxing, some exploring and if the weather permits (and you wish) some snorkelling too. The way we put it together will be up to you!

The delectable lunch comprises three courses - a gourmet antipasto platter, a local prawn platter and a fresh fruit platter with chocolates served with Champagne, organic wines or premium beers. 

​All produce is sourced locally, wherever possible, and is of the highest quality.  We serve lunch on board, although if you prefer we can set you up on the beach with some champagne and the antipasto platter so you can enjoy one of the stunning beaches for a little while.

We depart from Magnetic Island Marina, Nelly Bay, so you get to enjoy the beautiful sailing experience around Magnetic Island from the moment you are underway. The package includes return ferry tickets from Townsville, and we will meet you off the ferry and escort you to the boat (only two minutes walk from the Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal).
